Review of the Implementation of the
Government Programmes of Socio-Economic Reforms

The first issue of the "Review of the Implementation of the Government Programmes of Socio-Economic Reforms" was produced in January 2001.We decided to cover the main measures in three parts (Structural Changes; Development of the Private sector; Social Issues) satisfying three criteria:

• present the main priorities of the Russian Government
• take into account the main priorities of the EU Delegation (for example "Energy")
• avoid overlapping with reviews prepared by other entities and produce a paper based on our own analysis.

Nine researchers are involved in this work on a part-time basis, with Eric Brunat and Patricia Isaeva in charge. In 2002, RECEP joined forces with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to monitor the Medium-Term Program of the Russian Federation Social and Economic Development (2002–2004). The Review is going to be presented on a quarterly basis.
