Fourth meeting of RECEP’s Steering Committee

On September 23 rd , 2005 the fourth meeting of the Steering Committee of Russian-European Centre for Economic Policy (RECEP) was held in Moscow .

The meeting was aimed at discussing the course of implementation of the Work Plan of RECEP for July-December 2005, activities in the field of dissemination of information in the second half of 2005 and further improvement of the RECEP Project.

The meeting brought together representatives of a number of ministries and services of the Russian Federation , the Delegation of the European Commission to Russia and the management of RECEP:

  • N.B. Naigovsina, Deputy Head of Expert Directorate of the RF Presidential Administration
  • A.L. Golovkov, Chief of the Staff of Deputy Prime Minister of the RF Government A.D. Zhukov;
  • A.L. Blokhin - Aide to Deputy Chairman of the RF Government;
  • P.A. Volostrigov, Deputy Chairman of the RF State Duma Committee for Constitutional Legislation;
  • A.V. Slizkov, Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation ;
  • I.A. Safonov, Chief Specialist of Division of Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation ;
  • E.E. Alenovskaya, Senior Researcher of the Central Bank Research and Information Department;
  • I.N. Zadirako, Head of Division of Department of Corporate Governance of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation ;
  • B.A. Larionov, Deputy Head of Department of International Cooperation in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;
  • A.E. Surinov, Fist Deputy Chairman of the RF Federal State Statistics Service
  • V.V. Novikov, Official representative of RECEP Project partners;
  • Stephane Chardon, Second Secretary of the Delegation of the European Commission to Russia ;
  • Arnold Zoels, Project Officer ;
  • Jean-Lu ñ Poget, Director of RECEP Project;
  • Jean-Paul Blandinieres, Team Leader of RECEP Project;
  • A.K. Moiseev, Deputy Team Leader of RECEP Project,

and a number of Russian and European experts.

According to the A genda of the meeting, A.K. Moiseev, Deputy Team Leader of RECEP, reported on the course of implementation of the Centre’s Work Plan. He gave a detailed overview of RECEP’s activities within the framework of requests on various topics. He also noted that all RECEP’s outputs were available on the CDs, which were handed over to the participants of the meeting.

I.G. Kosikov, Key Information & Communication Expert of RECEP, touched upon the issues of publication of reports of RECEP’s experts and organization of study tours to the EU countries. He also informed the participants of the meeting about the analytical materials placed on the official website of RECEP.

The issue of continuation of RECEP activities sparked a lively discussion among the participants of the meeting. Jean-Luc Poget, Project Director of RECEP, delivered a report on the activities related to further development of RECEP. After that the participants of the meeting discussed it and agreed with the necessity to continue work on the preparation of materials, pertaining to the perspectives of establishing RECEP as an independent Research Centre in the field of economic policy.

It was agreed to continue the discussion of this issue at the next meeting of RECEP Steering Committee.
