On May 31, 2005 the sixth meeting of the Management Board of Russian-European Centre for Economic Policy (RECEP) was held.
The meeting brought together representatives of RECEP, the Delegation of the European Commission to Russia and a number of Russian and European Experts.
The meeting was chaired by Jean-Paul Blandinieres, Team Leader of RECEP, who gave a short opening speech to participants of the meeting.
According to the Agenda, the Management Board gave consideration to proposals for preparation of recommendations and pursuance of researches within the framework of new requests received from the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Government Office of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia.
Suggestions to develop the issues of application of current methods of support of science and technologies in order to accelerate the development of the innovation sector of Russian Economics are included in these requests.
Further the participants of the meeting were informed of the planned PR activities of RECEP. It is being planned to issue 2 new bulletins in the series “Tendencies of Russian-European Relations”, and also 4 new editions of “RECEP Reports” in the upcoming month. The preparation of the publication of the International Conference on Economic Development of the Regions’ documents and of the book on the Bologna Process is in progress.
Moreover, a number of workshops on the Information and Communication Technologies and e-Commerce will be held in June-July 2005.
During the meeting the issues of the further expansion of RECEP activities were also considered, inter alia, the issues concerning cooperation with the regions.
In the end the participants of the meeting agreed to conduct the third meeting of RECEP Steering Committee in June of this year.
