The ninth Petersburg International Economic Forum

According to the President of the Russian Federation order "On holding the 2005 Petersburg Economic Forum", decisions of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States from 14 to 16 June 2005 in Tavricheskiy Palace in Saint Petersburg there will be held the ninth Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The Forum is annually held under patronage of the President of the Russian Federation with assistance of the Government of the Russian Federation and support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Heads of states and governments, heads of parliaments, leaders of international organizations, representatives of economic and political elite of different states of the world regularly take active part in it. It is righteously considered to be the main economic summit of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The motto of the Forum is "Efficient Economy - Worthy Life".
The main issues to be discussed during the ninth Petersburg International Economic Forum are the economic growth problems and life quality under globalization conditions, international and interregional cooperation of the northern countries. The last issue is to be discussed in the frameworks of the thematic block "Prospects of cooperation in the Arctic " that will include one of the plenary sessions and round-tables.
The issues on the structural reforms and innovative development of the economics of Russia and the CIS countries, the participation of the CIS countries in the world integration processes, social and economic reforms realization, sectoral issues of the economy development and other topical questions will be in the center of the Forum discussions.
Presentations of the economic opportunities of the Siberian Federal District, Republic of Azerbaijan , Republic of Hungary will be presented at the specialized exhibition in Mikhailovsky Manezh in the framework of the ninth Petersburg International Economic Forum program. One of the sections of this project will be an exhibition "Mineral and Raw Material Resources of the CIS countries".
